Crabbers have the mindset of pirates — high risk for high reward — and putting life and limb on the line is just part of the job. Forty-foot waves, hurricane winds, sleep deprivation, and operating heavy machinery on a pitching deck, are just a few reasons the injury rate is one hundred percent. The rugged adventurers who fish these waters are the real draw. This season three new boats join the fray. The 78-ft Lisa Marie, the smallest boat in the fleet, will battle waves that seem to swallow the vessel. Aboard the Incentive, a team of old salts can't find the crab. While on the Trailblazer, a crew is haunted by a near-fatal incident from a few years ago — when a man went overboard only to be narrowly saved by Capt. Jonathan Hillstrand.
